In most places, real live casinos, as well as online casinos or different internet gambling sites, have uniform chip colors that indicate how much the chip is worth.  It gets confusing if you’re new to internet gambling, or new to the casino scene in general, so this might help you get started.  These do sometimes vary in places that don’t have regulations as to what chip colors must be, but for the most part, these listed are the values for the different colors.

Mustard yellow chips are usually worth fifty cents, though in some states you can get pink or blue fifty cent chips.  $1 chips are normally white, but they could be blue or gray as well.  Pink chips can be $2 or $2.50, but blue can also be $2.50.  $5 chips are always red,  and $10 chips are usually blue but may be purple.  Yellow chips are worth $20, and these chips are usually used only for Baccarat and Pai Gow.  Green chips are worth $25, black chips are worth $100, purple chips usually $500, fire orange chips (which are oversized) are worth $1,000, gray chips (also oversized) are worth $5,000, and brown chips are worth $10,000.

The last few chips mentioned are rarely encountered, really depends on the wagering limits of the casino, but may be found in high limit rooms in different casinos.  While the worth of chip colors does vary, these are basically the most common colors and their uses.
